01-08 Meeting of the Alternative Agriculture Advisory Committee

The Alternative Agriculture Advisory Committee for Ashe and Watauga counties met with representatives from different groups across the area for a planning session. Some of the individuals with the groups represented were Peter Marks from Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project (ASAP); Jerry A Moles, PhD from New River Land Trust in Blacksburg, Virginia; Carolyn Shepherd, the Ashe County Extension Director; Sally Thiel from Blue Ridge Women In Agriculture and Zydeco Moon Farm; Margie Mansure of Slow Food High Country - Boone; Christof den Biggelaar of Appalachian State University Farm; Ron & Suzanne Joyner of Big Horse Creek Farm; Ann Rose of Rose Mountain Farm; and representatives from Ashe County Farmers Market and Watauga County Farmers Market.
